The Hate Continues................

"BACK ROOM POLITICS" (SMEAR CAMPAIGN)

It's not a coincidence the market is being flooded by scandal plagued stories about President Barack Obama. This is a planned coordinated attack by powerful forces at play.

This is the first time in U.S. history that a smear campaign is continuing after an election. Certain people are determined to try and bring down the sitting president by any means necessary!

Others will try and roadblock him at every turn. A group of very powerful and wealthy individuals are funding this smear campaign, deep behind the scenes.

WTF : The post should be charged with Terroristic Threats!

On a more serious note. What the FUCK is up with the New York Post? Are they serious? Did this thing really make it past the editor as being FUNNY? In the words of Tony Soprano " GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE". You can't possibly be serious. Who in GOD'S name thought this thing was going to get by unscathed? Or more to the point...Does the Post have so much disrespect for our new President that they felt it wasn't that big a deal? Face it people, BARAK OBAMA is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. I have said it from day 1 that his election is not a sign that racism is dead. It's merely a sign of changes to come, but it WILL GET WORSE before it gets better. Racism is so deeply interwoven into this countries fabric that it will take more than President Obama's election to change that. I am so overwhelmed with anger on this one that it's hard to even write intelligently on it..soo...let me say this. How this is handled by the powers that be, The Post, The People of American, The Media ( excluding FOX of course )will shed light on what has hidden silently in the dark. I am talking about subversive racism hidden in every crevice that makes up the U.S. Keep watching people because this is going to be interesting.

Very Nice Cover....

Throughout this extraordinary election, it often seemed as if history itself were campaigning alongside Barack Obama.

The spirits of the civil rights movement--and movements for social justice everywhere--were with Obama on this historic Inauguration Day. Artist John Mavroudis imagines the occasion.
It was on August 28, 2008, on the forty-fifth anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech, that Obama accepted the Democratic party's nomination, becoming the first black American to be a major party's presidential candidate.

And on January 20, 2009--one day after Martin Luther King Day--Obama will be sworn in as the first black president of the United States. No doubt the spirits of the civil rights movement, and of movements for racial justice everywhere, will be with him then.
Artist John Mavroudis's cover illustration for this week's print edition of The Nation imagines this inauguration--one witnessed not in flesh and blood, but in the bonds of justice and peace. To identify the historical figures, match the list of names below with the diagram at right.

Obama gets irritated in White House press room

Washington, Jan. 23 : President Obama made a surprise visit to the White House press corps Thursday night, but got agitated when he was faced with a substantive question.

Asked how he could reconcile a strict ban on lobbyists in his administration with a Deputy Defense Secretary nominee who lobbied for Raytheon, Obama interrupted with a knowing smile on his face.

"Ahh, see," he said, "I came down here to visit. See this is what happens. I can''t end up visiting with you guys and shaking hands if I''m going to get grilled every time I come down here."

Pressed further by the Politico reporter about his Pentagon nominee, William J. Lynn III, Obama turned more serious, putting his hand on the reporter''s shoulder and staring him in the eye.

"Alright, come on. We will be having a press conference at which time you can feel free to [ask] questions. Right now, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to you guys - that''s all I was trying to do," he said with obvious irritation in his voice.

Obama spent about 10 minutes total, winding his way through a crush of reporters and photographers between the upper and lower floors of the journalists'' workspace and asking questions about who worked where and how the booths and desks were assigned.

Reporters had little warning about the impromptu visit by the new president. (ANI)

Obama: “Everybody’s Going to Have to Give”

Barack Obama finally came clean in an exclusive interview with ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent and “This Week” Host George Stephanopoulos that aired this morning.

In a surprising display of honesty, Obama admitted that his campaign promises were just empty campaign rhetoric.

Obama told Stephanopoulos that fixing the economy over the long term will require “sacrifice” from every American and “scaling back” some of his campaign promises.

“Everybody’s going to have to give. Everybody’s going to have to have some skin in the game,” Obama said.

Obama’s plan to revive the economy is a familiar one: spend, spend, spend. But it’s a difficult thing balancing a budget by spending money you don’t have.

It seems to me that the best way to reverse the economic downturn is to stop spending taxpayer money and work on eliminating wasteful government spending by scaling back federal programs and earmarks that are designed to benefit political campaign contributers and lobbyists.

The truth is Obama is no different from George Bush. He will continue the timeless government tradition of robbing from Peter to pay Paul in the form of a trillion dollar “recovery package” that will vanish down the same government black hole where Bush’s bailout package went.

And when that trillion dollars fails to stimulate the economy, Obama will raise taxes on everyone.

Predictably, the Stephanopoulos blog readers are off the chain in the comments section. Furious at the prospect of paying higher taxes later for Obama’s inexperience now. A comment posted by “please!” pretty much summed up the consensus of the readers:

With record unemployment (worse since 1945) Sorry Barack… I’ve got NOTHING left to give!!! Go ahead and raise taxes. You might as well finish the rest of us off!!! Years from now our children will ask us what was the “middle class.”

Barack has Lunch with all the Presidents..Can we say Family Re-Union

WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama hailed a rare Oval Office gathering of all U.S. presidents as extraordinary on Wednesday, while President George W. Bush wished him well and pledged that the office "transcends the individual."

"I just want to thank the president for hosting us," the president-elect said, flanked by former President George H.W. Bush on one side and his son on the other.

Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, both smiling broadly, stood with them.

"All the gentlemen here understand both the pressures and possibilities of this office," Obama said. "For me to have the opportunity to get advice, good counsel and fellowship with these individuals is extraordinary."

In a swift photo opportunity, the current president wished Obama well before all five men headed off for a private lunch.

Obama Said to Push for Tax Cuts in Stimulus Plan

Jan. 5 (Bloomberg) -- President-elect Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package will include hundreds of billions of dollars worth of tax breaks for individuals and businesses, according to a transition official and Democratic aides.

Obama is asking that tax cuts make up 40 percent of a stimulus package, the people say. The measure may be worth as much as $775 billion, a Democratic aide says, meaning tax cuts may constitute more than $300 billion of the legislation.

The dollar today rose to the highest level in almost three weeks against the euro and also surged against the yen on speculation that the Obama plan would help the U.S. economy recover from recession.

Making tax cuts such a large part of the stimulus may help win support from congressional Republicans. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, said his party would support an immediate middle-class tax cut as part of any stimulus package.

“Republicans, by and large, think tax relief is a great way to get money to people immediately,” McConnell said yesterday on ABC’s “This Week.”

The plan would attempt to boost consumer demand by spending $140 billion on tax breaks worth $500 for individuals and $1,000 for couples, according to a House Democratic aide. The change would come by altering tax-withholding rules, rather than through a rebate check as with the previous stimulus plan enacted last year, so that workers would see an immediate increase in their take-home pay.

The $500 tax credit would apply to the first $8,100 of wages, meaning a worker who earns $24,400 a year and is paid twice a month would get about $60 extra per paycheck for four months.

Business Tax Breaks

For businesses, the aide said, lawmakers will use similar measures they’ve employed in past stimulus bills, such as allowing companies to get refunds for taxes paid in any or all of the past five years by deducting losses they’ve incurred now; those losses can currently only be carried back two years.

Congress is also likely to include incentives such as accelerated depreciation to encourage companies to buy equipment now rather than defer such investments. The plan also attempts to combat joblessness by offering companies tax breaks for hiring more workers, the aide said.

The tax provisions are also likely to repeal the alternative minimum tax on municipal bonds issued to build airport runways, sewer systems and other privately run facilities that benefit the population at large, another aide said. Congress is unlikely to enact a new round of incentives for U.S.-based multinational corporations to repatriate foreign earnings at a discounted tax rate as urged by business groups such as the Chamber of Commerce, that aide said.

Accelerated Tax Breaks

Many of the business tax incentives would be accelerated so that any dollar written off now would not be able to be claimed in future years, the aide said. That would reduce the long-term impact of the tax cuts on the federal budget deficit.

Obama is slated to meet today with congressional leaders from both parties to discuss the plan. Democrats said Congress probably won’t be able to complete work on the plan by January 20, the day of the inauguration, as some had hoped.

“It’s going to be very difficult to get a package put together that early,” said House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer in an interview on “Fox News Sunday.” “We want to do this right.” He said he expects the House to pass the bill by the end of the month and get the legislation through the Senate and signed into law in February.

Urgency

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, in an interview yesterday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” downplayed the importance of what he called a “false” deadline. “The urgency of this, everyone knows about -- but I’m not going to have some false deadline,” Reid said. “It’ll take as much time as it needs to get done.”

Obama has called on lawmakers to quickly pass legislation to prop up the economy, which is in its worst slump in decades and could deteriorate further without significant fiscal stimulus. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg last month projected gross domestic product would shrink in the fourth quarter by 4.3 percent, the biggest decline since 1982.
